Ensuring smooth operation and correct configuration
Summary:
This application note includes all procedures to follow to ensure reliable and effective operation between a Soltaro battery and Synapse inverter. This system is classified as an “unmanaged” system and therefore all battery parameters need be set up on the inverter.
Overview:
It is recommended that the following are considered before commissioning such systems:
- All cables are correctly terminated, i.e. battery power cables.
- System is correctly sized according to the recommended maximum charge / discharge rates of these batteries:
Max charge / discharge rates:
4.5kWH = 90A at 1C
5kWH = 100A at 1C
- All battery parameters are set correctly on the inverter.
Specific technical details:
The following is the correct battery charging parameters used between the Synapse 5.0K+ and the Soltaro battery:
- Battery type: “USE”
- “Back to utility”: User defined, dependent on the choice of depth of discharge.
- “Back to battery”: Set this value as close to your float value as possible to ensure a proper charging cycle after discharge.
- “Bulk charging voltage”: Set this value to 56.2V.
- “float charging voltage”: Set this value to 55V.
- “Cut-off voltage”: Set this value to 48V.
Additional information:
- Before the collection of system components from Rubicon, please ensure that your battery has been pre-programmed by the technical support team.
- If the battery presents any fault or abnormal operation, these problems could include the following:
- Battery fault light. This error will present a red flashing LED on the battery status bar.
- Battery shutting down overnight.
- Battery not starting up the system, followed by a fault light.
please contact the technical support team from Rubicon.
