Ensuring smooth operation and correct configuration
Summary:
This configuration involves connecting communications between Pylontech or Synapse batteries to Synapse 7.2M+ inverters to ensure reliable operation. This type of configuration is referred to as being "managed", as all the the battery behavior is managed and communicated via the communication cable.
Overview:
Before commissioning of the system, the following is required:
- Ensure that the RJ45 communication cables and battery power cables and correctly terminated and connected.
- The system is correctly sized according to the recommended maximum charge / discharge rates of these batteries:
Max charge / discharge rates:
2.4 kWH: 25A (recommended) / 50A (Max) per battery
3.5 kWH: 37A (recommended) / 74Amps (Max) per battery
Specific technical details:
The following is the correct wiring for the communications between the Pylontech/Synapse batteries and a Synapse 7.2M+ inverter:
Configuration:
- During the commissioning stage of the installation, please ensure that your battery type is set to “PYL” on the inverter. This setting is on program/parameter number 05 (Battery Type). This will automatically load all the battery parameters needed for the correct functioning of the battery such as the charging current, charging voltage etc.
- Unless using multiple banks/stacks of batteries, the ADD (DIP) switches should be positioned - 1000 to allow a baud rate of 9600 for communication.
Additional information:
- Common errors which could occur:
- “Error 61” – Loss of communication between battery and inverter. Ensure the communication cable is inserted correctly.
- “Error 69” – BMS message due to incorrect charging. Please contact the technical support department.
NOTE: Once effective communication is established between the inverter and battery, the battery icon on the display will flash. Once this occurs, you will not be able to change any voltages or currents in the system as they are automatically configured and managed through the selection of the "PYL" function on program/parameter number 05. In other words, program 02, 26, 27 and 29 will be automatically be set up with no need to further set them up.
