This article takes a look how to correctly update Studer equipment firmware
Overview:
It is occasionally necessary to update the firmware of Studer components. The process is straight forward but cannot be done remotely - software upgrades must be done locally /on site.
Updates on a system are performed with an RCC-02/03 device. Additionally, if an Xcom-232i (GSM/LAN) device is present, it will require an additional firmware update step.
How to update with RCC-02/03:
- Remove the SD Card from the RCC-02/03:
- Insert SD Card into your computer:
3. Download the last software version “Xtender System Update (xxxx)” from
https://www.studer-innotec.com/en/downloads/ and then open Software and Updates.
4. Extract the folder “02” just downloaded.
5. Delete any previous / old “02” folders from the SD Card:
6. Copy the new one into your SD Card
7. Remove the SD Card from your computer
8. Insert the card back into your RCC-02/03
9. The RCC-02/03 will ask if you would like to make the update
10. Select YES. The update will start. Don’t touch the system.
Updating with Xcom-LAN/GSM:
Follow the same procedure as described above; the only difference is the update will start automatically.
