When connecting the Synapse inverter to the Dyness battery it is important to note that the communication works over RS485 and not CAN.
Step 1:
Make the correct communication cable for this protocol, the pin outs will be as follows:
The Pin outs for this protocol would be:
• Dyness 1 & 2
• Synapse 3 & 5
Synapse Pin
Dyness Pins
Step 2:
Once the correct cable has been made, set the dip switch address on the Dyness for a Voltronic Inverter, once the dip switch has been configured, please power cycle the batteries so the change can take effect. The master address should be set to 0100 all slaves will have the address of 0000.
Step 3:
Set the inverter to the correct parameter
Under the inverter setting settings, set parameter 05 to “PYL”
With these steps followed correctly, communication will be established between the inverter and battery.
If you do encounter problems, please check the following:
• Check that the correct pins outs are wired.
• Ensure that the dip switches have been set correctly and that the battery/batteries have been power cycled.
• Ensure that the right parameter on the inverter is selected.
• Check that your communication cable has no breaks in it with the help of a network cable tester.
